Decades ago there was a dream.
The dream became an inspiration.
Soon the inspiration will become a reality.
The Seminole area will have its own Museum!
Located within Seminole City Park on Ridge Road—itself an area of historic significance—the Museum will occupy almost half of the former City Hall Building. The City of Seminole is reconfiguring the structure to accommodate the Museum, as well as a large multipurpose room for municipal and community use.
Since our formation in 2005, the Society’s membership has increased considerably and we have presented many interesting historical programs in our temporary Recreation Center quarters. During this time we have acquired memorabilia, documents, photographs and artifacts—the beginnings of the contents of our new Museum. We have also acquired some good used furniture for the Museum.
The time has come to ask for your help. We will have some major expenditures, particularly for display cabinetry and state-of-the-art electronic equipment to produce and record our programs. There will be expenditures to preserve and maintain the museum materials we receive.
Donations in the following categories will be recorded in the Museum’s Donor Registry, and names will additionally be displayed prominently in the Museum, as to the donor’s wishes:
Pioneers $500 or more
Settlers $5,000 or more
Historians $10,000 or more
We hope you are as enthusiastic as we are to have a Museum, an institution that will be here for generations that will enhance the fabric of our community. We hope you will contribute. Please give it your serious consideration and know that any and all contributions will be recorded in the Museum’s “Donor Registry.”
Since this is a a 501C3 non-profit organization, your donation is tax deductible.
